Pevensey Court House & Gaol Museum

About

Pevensey’s Court House, Town Hall and Gaol dates back to the 1700s and is now a fascinating local museum. It contains all the original court furniture. Stand in the dock before heading into the prison cells!

There’s a wealth of things to see in the building from Roman, to Norman. Learn about Pevensey’s role as a port, the historic smuggling and criminal activities and much more besides - even visit the plague doctor in one of the cells.
