Step back in time to 1066 with a weekend of fun, family-friendly activities exploring the famous Battle of Hastings.
Discover the story of the battle at a theatrical 30 minute performance in the open air and embark on a new, specially-created trail across the battlefield to learn more about what happened during the conflict and what life was like during the eleventh century.
Meet falconers and get up close to majestic birds of prey as you learn how they were used by Saxon kings and Norman lords. Then watch the glorious birds swoop and soar in awe-inspiring flying displays and listen to tales of powerful monarchs, travelling monks and royal servants.
Find out if you would have had what it took to join William or Harold's armies as you try your hand at archery.
And with the abbey ruins to explore and incredible views to take in from the gatehouse rooftop, it's sure to be a memorable day out marking one of the most important moments in England's history.
1066 Weekend is included in the standard admission price. Pre-booking is now essential to visit Battle Abbey.
