Come & create some wonderfully vibrant artworks using Matisse's cut out technique as inspiration.
This three hour collage workshop will focus on the 'cut out' technique of Henri Matisse which he developed during the last years of his artistic life. Participants will discover how Matisse 'carved into colour' – using simple shapes and vivid tones to transform paint and paper into a vibrant world of plants, animals, figures, and shapes.
After an introduction to Matisse's work and a fun collaborative warm-up, participants will be creating a series of Matisse-inspired cards, a bookmark and an A4 collage artwork over the course of the afternoon.
Shelley, from Ways of Seeing, will be on hand to share her knowledge and offer guidance along the way. All tools and materials required for the workshop will be provided along with tea, coffee and biscuits.
£18.50 per adult.
