Libera Nos is, to the best of our knowledge, the very first multi-faith oratorio to be premiered anywhere in the world. This monumental work was written for five soloists, mixed choir, children's choir and full symphony orchestra. Libera Nos ('Deliver Us' in Latin) is a very exciting and passionate major new work, comprising 60 original vocal and instrumental compositions structured into four main sections: Creation, Law & Obedience, End of Time and Reconciliation & Salvation.
The main idea behind this oratorio was to convey and unite the traditional beliefs and spiritual messages of all main world religions: Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, Christianity and Islam. It was born out of the belief that as long as people remain segregated from each other, the world will continue being a deeply divisive, unjust and unhappy place. Only by looking for common ground and universal similarities can we find understanding and contribute to a better life for all of us on this planet.
Performers include the London Mozart Players, the Hastings Sinfonia, the Libera Nos Chorus, the Hastings Music Services Junior Choir and 5 renowned soloists!
Ticket prices £8-15 - please see website for details.
