Heart of Sidley is gearing up for an unforgettable community event with Sidley Festival, taking place at the Sidley Recreation Ground on June 15th, 2024, with a daytime programme from 12pm to 5:30pm and an evening programme from 8pm to 10pm. This community-focused event promises a day packed with fun activities, performances, workshops, and exhibitions. Everyone is welcome to dress up and join the parade themed around animals and flowers.
Heart of Sidley is working with local events company 18 Hours to produce Sidley Festival.
Attendees can look forward to a mix of activities throughout the day, including Loveart by the Dream Engine, a 12.5m high, air-filled structure that frames an elegant aerial performer, a Big Top by Circus Pazaz, a storytelling marquee showcasing guesthouse storytellers Xanthe Gresham and Peter Chand, and the upbeat music of the Zong Zing Allstars and local performers. The evening will feature internationally renowned reggae band Aswad, all completely free for attendees.
"We're excited to host Sidley Festival 2024, a celebration of our community's creativity and diversity," said the Heart of Sidley Partnership. "It's more than just a day of fun – it's a chance for us to come together, share our stories, and celebrate what makes Sidley special."
Sidley Festival is completely free to attend, thanks to generous supporters including Arts Council England, Rother District Council, Chalk Cliff Trust, RAAM Construction Ltd, ABCA Systems, Colours Decorating Ltd, the De La Warr Pavilion, and many more local supporters.
