This summer the Sussex Guild will show for the 55th consecutive year at Michelham Priory, a Grade I listed Tudor house, set on a private island surrounded by England's largest water-filled medieval moat.
Enter through an impressive gatehouse and combine a visit to the past with talking to top contemporary craft makers, from whom you may buy directly, or commission bespoke items.
A wide range of handmade work will be displayed in marquees on the lawns as well as in the Elizabethan barn. You'll find ceramics, textiles, jewellery, leatherwork, textiles, pewter, wood, glass, metalwork and furniture.
Some designers will be demonstrating their skills: several different ceramics techniques, flamed worked glass, jewellery making, woodturning, embroidery and quilting.
With an 800-year-old house and seven acres of beautiful grounds, including the kitchen and physic gardens, a medieval herb garden and replica Bronze Age roundhouses to explore, free parking, catering and picnic facilities and areas for children's play this is an ideal day out in the heart of Sussex.
