House research is one of the most popular reasons for visits to our Local Studies Room and we have several resources that are frequently used, including street directories, photographs, and records of addresses for which there are building and planning documents at the Keep. Council minutes may throw light on planning issues too and we have some estate agents' sales records and other useful historical records including details of wartime bomb damage. We also have a collection of local history books, often very well illustrated, which can give information about neighbourhoods or areas of Hastings and St Leonards.
In this interactive session, learn about what resources you can use at the museum to research your home or where you live.
