Bexhill After Dark '25 returns for the fourth year running, on Saturday 25th January 2025 from 5pm - 8pm with more captivating performances, activities and installations.
Produced by local events company 18 Hours, Bexhill After Dark will bring you a fantastic night of light art and a chance to explore Bexhill with the help of many in the Bexhill community.
This festival will take place all over Bexhill's coastal areas, and up and down adjoining roads. Be sure to check out the shop window displays and stick around for the exciting events coming up.
Along with crowd stoppers such as The Show Globe's Living Snow Globe, Murmuration Arts' Nightlight Lullabies, Luma's Air Giants, UK African Acrobats with their acrobatic and fiery performances, Xena Flame's hula hoop performance and workshop, and Circo Rum Ba Ba's Light Gliders, we're thrilled to announce that we'll be putting up a stage this year for an Opera show by Barefoot Opera, Live Music by Office for Personal Development, a dance performance by the Tornado Twirl Stars, and other incredible shows.
The Peace Poem by Emergency Exit Arts will be on display for all to take in and Spark! drummers are accompanying us on the evening with their illuminated gear.
Our Global Educator will also be bringing creative workshops to schools in the week leading up to Bexhill After Dark, as an opportunity for students to build their own illuminated props to show off in the parade, which all are welcome to join.
The years' Bexhill After Dark is Circus themed and we'd like to encourage everyone to dress up in anything related to circus or 'Dress Your Wheels' where you can bring along a bike, mobility scooter, or even skates, adorned with lights and glowing decorations.
This event is funded by Arts Council England, Rother District Council and Bexhill Town Council. It has also generated generous local sponsorship and is supported by an advisory panel. 18 Hours is a member of the Association of Festival Organisers and the Consortium of Development Education Centres.
