Mozart's operas are well-loved for their glorious melodies and masterful orchestration, and Don Giovanni is considered by many to be one of Mozart's greatest triumphs.
This outrageous comedy tells the story of an incorrigible young playboy who blazes a path to his own destruction in a single day. The central character is at one and the same time irresistible, irresponsible and amoral. But it is soon apparent that even such an irresistible character cannot escape the consequences of his flouting of conventional morality.
This fully staged production will be performed by international young soloists at the start of their careers. Sung in Italian, with English subtitles, accompanied by the Hastings Philharmonic Ensemble, with Chorus performed by the HPO Singers.
