What a fab day exploring Hastings with three amazing attractions! A castle, caves and an aquarium. Perfect combination! First stop for us was Hastings Castle, as we were worried it might rain later. The castle ruins show half of the original structure. You can learn how the Battle of Hastings unfolded by watching a short film onsite. The castle sits on top of the West Hill overlooking the Old Town of Hastings, which gives you breathtaking views of the Hastings coastline. Then onto Smugglers Adventure, which was a short walk away. It was so cool to be 70ft underground walking around illuminated caves and hearing stories of the smugglers from life-sized characters. It’s super dark in places so bring along a torch or buy one at the entry desk. (Top tip your phone’s torch light would be enough to get by!)Our last stop was the Blue Reef Aquarium where we got up-close to loads of incredible creatures from around the world and managed to time it perfectly for the main encounters feeding time. The reptile house was good as well and inside I saw the biggest frog I’ve ever seen in my life. My husband wanted to run away at this point as he hates frogs. Big thank you to these three attractions for gifting us tickets for an honest review and to Museum Mum for inspiring us to go. If you are inspired to go after our visit please do let us know.
